One of my favorite restaurants in Orange County is Tracy Borkum’s CUCINA Enoteca. They do a great job of marrying the farm-to-table feel with flavors from Italy. This weekend on Saturday, February 18 from noon to 3:00 p.m., they have an event you simply cannot miss. Though this weather may not exactly be ideal, the experience they’ve created for you goes perfectly with all those oversized sweaters you’ve undoubtedly busted out this weekend. CUCINA Enoteca in Irvine is hosting their Swine + Wine event, which was supposed to be an al fresco dining experience, but if I were a betting woman, I’d say they’ve made arrangements to avoid turning their pig roast into a rain water pork stew. So, here are the details for tomorrow’s feast: Chef Tony Trujillo will be slow smoking an entire heirloom pig at extra high temperatures for that extra crispy skin and tender meat that you won’t be able to get enough of. Delicious sides of fresh slaw, housemate buns, coal roasted potatoes with Calabrian creme fraiche, yellow bean salad with smoked almond and salsa verde, campanile pasta salad with Bloomsdale spinach, walnut and confit tomato, little gem salad with crispy black peas, fennel, citrus, and fra diavolo. If this doesn’t sound like a feast fit for a king, I don’t know what does. For the wine drinkers out there, you are in luck! Grab a glass and enjoy the five wine selections from the Tuscany and Piedmont in Italy and Napa and the Willamette Valley in California and Oregon, respectively. Tickets to this event are $72 plus tax and worth every penny! Order yours now here before the event!
