What’s one of the events foodies in Orange County look forward to each year? Orange County Restaurant Week, of course! Celebrating its eighth year, this culinary event just keeps growing and growing. This year over 100 restaurants will be participating with all types of palates served, and from casual, family-friendly places, to upscale and fine dining establishments.
During this weeklong event, the participating restaurants will be offering special three-course menus, many of which will be accompanied by a specialty cocktail, or other signature item, at no additional charge. There are a ton of talented chefs in Orange County, and Restaurant Week is a chance for them to really show off their culinary chops.
Lunches will be offered from $10, $15 or $20, while dinner will be available for $20, $30, $40, $50 or $80. A limited number of the restaurants will offer the $80 “luxe” menu, which will feature wine and/or cocktail pairings.
Interested diners can search the list of more than 100 restaurants by name, city, or price point by visiting OCRestaurantWeek.com.
Diners eating out during Orange County Restaurant Week who tag their photos (come on, you know you love photographing your food!) with #OCRW2017 between March 5 and March 11 will be entered to win two tickets to OC Chef’s Table. The event, which will be held on March 12, will benefit the Illumination Foundation. It will take place at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, where the winner will also receive a one-night stay following the event.
GIRL SCOUT COOKIE DESSERTS
Select restaurants will be offering desserts during OC Restaurant Week that have been inspired by the Girl Scout Cookies that seem to be at the entrance to every store these days. (Not that we’re complaining!) These special desserts will feature a variety of the cookies the Girl Scouts are now offering. Participating restaurants will also be hosting local Scouts for a preview tasting of these special desserts. (If anyone is making a dessert with the Lemonade cookie, please let me know because I have a bad addiction to those and will visit your locale often!)
